Amazon and Premium CBD Don’t Mix! Why You Should’t Buy CBD on Amazon!

You might be surprised to learn that you’ll never find CBD on Amazon, and here’s why!

Amazon sells hundreds of thousands of products. It is far simpler for the company to ban all CBD products instead of attempting to determine, on a case-by-case basis, if a product complies with both the Controlled Substances Act and the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. While this reality may change in the future, for now, retailers like Amazon won’t sell CBD products.

Not only that, but they don’t allow you to list CBD as an ingredient, make any claims about CBD, or mention CBD on your website if you sell your product on Amazon. They are very clear about it in their terms and conditions.

For a product to be considered hemp under federal law, it must contain extremely low (0.3% or less) levels of THC. Otherwise, it may be classified as marijuana and deemed a controlled substance.

In spite of Amazon’s rules, when you went on to Amazon and searched for CBD, hundreds of products popped up on the search. So, why are we saying that you cannot buy premium CBD on Amazon when there are so many different products on there? Because almost all of them don’t contain CBD and are just cleverly worded product descriptions designed to make customers assume they contain CBD.

To help you understand a little more about it, let’s break down the difference between CBD oil and hemp seed oil or hemp extract!

What is the difference between CBD oil and hemp seed oil?

When you buy any premium high-quality CBD oil, it’s going to contain active cannabidiol (CBD) listed as one of the ingredients. This is always displayed as a 0/mg measurement. It tells you how much CBD is in the product you’re buying. Premium CBD products will also come with a laboratory report (COA – Certificate of Analysis) which tells you how much CBD is in the product, and that it’s free of toxins, heavy metals, and pesticides.

CBD oil is made from hemp plants. Hemp plants are high in CBD while containing almost no THC. The hemp plant, leaves, and stems are processed, and a complicated and expensive extraction process, such as CO2 method, removes the CBD from the plant material.

Hemp seed oil is made from pressing the seeds of the hemp plant. Hemp seed oil has been around for decades and is a popular additive in a variety of different health and wellness products. It’s not an overly complicated or expensive process, which is why hemp seed oil isn’t as expensive as CBD oil. However, hemp seeds don’t contain any CBD. Hemp seed oil doesn’t contain any CBD.

CBD oil is harder and more expensive to make, hence the higher price tag. Hemp seed oil is relatively inexpensive to make and doesn’t contain any CBD. To get higher prices for their hemp seed oil, companies on Amazon try to imply that hemp seed oil is actually CBD oil.

There are a variety of different ways that they do this. You’re going to see a lot of products that contain buzz words like cannabis extract, cannabis plant extract, hemp plant extract, hemp seed extract, Phyto-compounds, and much more, but you’re not going to see the word CBD or cannabidiol.

When you start clicking on the products and reading the fine print, you’ll see that there is no CBD in the product, and the oil is made from pressed hemp seeds. While hemp seed oil may have some nutritional benefits, it’s not CBD oil, and not only is your wallet going to be a bit lighter, but you’re going to be extremely disappointed with the results.
